New Delhi:
In a bold marketing move, Google has taken a direct jab at Apple in its latest teaser for the upcoming Pixel 10 series, calling out the iPhone’s much-delayed AI features especially the highly anticipated Siri AI overhaul. The 30-second teaser, titled “Google Pixel 10 | Soon,” was uploaded to the official Made by Google YouTube channel and doesn’t hold back in mocking Apple’s timeline.
The narration in the video makes a sarcastic dig at iPhones with the voiceover stating:
“If you buy a new phone because of a feature that’s coming soon… But, it’s been coming soon for a full year… You could change your definition of soon. Or you could just… change your phone.”
Set to an instrumental version of “The Next Episode” by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg a track possibly chosen as a subtle nod to Apple’s acquisition of Beats Electronics by Dr. Dre the teaser clearly positions Pixel 10 as the next big leap in smartphone AI, while highlighting Apple’s slow rollout of promised features.
Hitting Apple Where It Hurts
Apple first unveiled its AI roadmap during WWDC 2024, announcing an ambitious update for Siri that would include contextual awareness, in-app functionality, and AI-generated suggestions based on real-time screen content. These features were initially expected to launch with the iPhone 16 in September 2024.
However, over the past year, Apple’s rollout of these AI capabilities grouped under the banner of “Apple Intelligence” has been staggered and delayed, with the Siri AI revamp now expected to arrive only in 2026. And that too, if there are no further postponements. Meanwhile, Google has taken a different approach.
Tasteful and on-point marketing by Google for the Pixel 10.
Apple really fumbled hard, for those who actually value AI features.

Pixel 10 Powered by Gemini AI
At Google I/O 2025, the tech giant revealed a wide range of new AI-powered features to be bundled with the Pixel 10 series, many of which are already functional through Gemini, Google’s advanced AI assistant. These include agentic AI features, real-time contextual responses, and smarter integration with apps the kind of capabilities Apple users are still waiting for.
By contrasting Google’s present offerings with Apple’s prolonged promises, the teaser delivers a pointed message: Pixel users don’t have to wait for “soon” the future is already here.
Marketing Strategy or War Cry?
Google’s latest campaign is more than just an advertisement it’s a strategic shot across the bow at its biggest rival, highlighting the widening gap in AI deployment between the two tech giants. With the Pixel 10 launch expected in the coming weeks, this teaser is just the opening act in what may be a heated marketing battle between Pixel vs iPhone.
Whether consumers decide to redefine “soon” or switch phones altogether remains to be seen, but one thing is clear Google isn’t pulling any punches.
