Members of the Mexican delegation were honoured with the title of “Peace Ambassador” by the Gandhi Mandela Foundation for their unparalleled dedication to non-violence, peace and service to humanity. This event was held at Gandhi Darshan Samiti, where the founder and general secretary of the organization, Advocate Nandan Jha, honored all the dignitaries.
This honour was given to those personalities who carry forward the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela and have made commendable contributions in promoting global unity, compassion and justice.
The dignitaries honoured are as follows:

Ms. Altagracia Gómez Sierra — Mexican lawyer, entrepreneur and political consultant
Ms. Michelle Ferrari — President, Women Economic Forum Iberoamerica and CEO, Human Richness Mexico
Advocate Nandan Jha said on this occasion, “The life and work of all these great men embody the values of Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela. We are proud to welcome them as ambassadors of peace.”
This award ceremony is a strong step towards the symbols of global peace, truth, justice and dedication. This initiative of the Foundation is a remarkable effort towards promoting tolerance, brotherhood and social harmony in the world.
Gandhi Mandela Foundation:
The Gandhi Mandela Foundation is a Government of India registered trust that promotes the ideas of Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela like individual freedom, civil liberty, truth, non-violence and human rights across the world. The founder and general secretary of the Gandhi Mandela Foundation is Advocate Nandan Jha and the president of the Foundation is Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj, a Hindu spiritual leader from India.
Gandhi Mandela Award:
The Gandhi Mandela Awards were instituted on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi to honour those who carry forward the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela. Spiritual leader Dalai Lama was awarded the first Gandhi Mandela Award for promoting global peace. On the occasion of Mandela Day 2024, Mexican human rights activist, feminist, “Rigoberta Menchu Tum” was honored. “Rigoberta Menchu Tum” has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1992.
