Ekta Kapoor clarifies on ALTT Ban

Ekta Kapoor issued a public statement distancing herself from the ALTT platform after 25 OTT platforms banned by the government for allegedly streaming vulgar and obscene content, . She clarified that neither she nor her mother, Shobha Kapoor, has been associated with ALTT in any capacity since June 2021.

Emphasizing that they have no involvement in the platform’s current management, content, or operations, Kapoor urged media outlets to refrain from linking her name to ALTT’s ongoing controversy. She further explained that ALTT is now operated solely by Balaji Telefilms Ltd., following a formal amalgamation completed in June 2025. Kapoor’s statement aimed to protect her professional reputation and clarify that she bears no responsibility for the content that led to the government’s crackdown.

Ekta Kapoor’s Official Statement

Ekta Kapoor’s official statement, released after the Indian government banned ALTT for vulgar content, served to clearly disassociate herself and her mother, Shobha Kapoor, from the platform. She explained that they have not been involved with ALTT since June 2021, meaning they had stepped away from all content creation, management, and business decisions related to the OTT platform well before the recent controversy.

Kapoor also pointed out that Balaji Telefilms Ltd.—the parent company she co-founded—formally took over ALTT’s operations in June 2025 through an internal merger. POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
