On Sunday, a 19-year-old student was fatally stabbed in front of Aryabhatta College at Delhi University. The student, identified as Nikhil Chauhan, came to the institution to attend his lessons. He was registered in the university’s School of Open Learning.
Another student with whom Nikhil had a fight seven days earlier stabbed him. Nikhil and the student got into a fight because the student is said to have misbehaved around Nikhil’s girlfriend.
On Sunday, the alleged student came to the college gate with three of his friends and stabbed Nikhil. He was carried to Charak Palika Hospital in Moti Bagh, where medical staff pronounced him dead.
Police claimed they have identified the culprit and that a report has been filed over the event. To determine the timeline of events, police will go through CCTV cameras placed at and surrounding the murder scene. A group has been assembled to make the arrests.
