A double homicide in Lajpat Nagar, South Delhi has shaken the national capital as a woman and her teenage son were discovered brutally murdered in their residence on Wednesday night.

As per Delhi Police, the event was discovered at approximately 9:43 pm on July 2, when Kuldeep Sewani, husband of the victim, reached out to authorities after his numerous attempts to contact his wife and son received no response. He also mentioned observing bloodstains on the steps and gate of their home.

A police squad with the Station House Officer (SHO) arrived at the location and forced the locked door open. The lifeless remains of Ruchika Sewani, 42, and her 14-year-old son were found.

Ruchika was found deceased in the bedroom, whereas her son’s corpse was found in the bathroom. Police stated that both seemed to have been assaulted with a sharp-edged weapon.

Ruchika Sewani co-owned a clothing store in the Lajpat Nagar Market with her spouse. Their child was enrolled in the 10th grade.

The primary suspect, named Mukesh, 24, who hails from Bihar and now lives in the nearby Amar Colony, worked for the Sewanis as a driver and assistant in their store. He was caught by police while reportedly attempting to flee.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
