Delhi’s Mugeshpur records 52.3 degrees celsius temperature; highest ever in capital city
At the Mungeshpur weather station in Delhi, the temperature reached 52.3 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, the most it has ever been in Delhi, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Delhi also had light rain and gusty gusts following the record temperature, which brought much-needed relief from the sweltering heat.
Amidst the record temperature, the city’s power demand also hit its all-time high at 8,302 megawatts (MW) on Wednesday afternoon.

For the first time in its history, the national capital’s power consumption has surpassed 8,300 megawatts. According to electricity distribution firms, this summer’s peak power consumption is expected to be 8,200 MW, according to discom authorities.
The State Load Dispatch Center in Delhi reports that on Wednesday afternoon, the city’s highest electricity consumption was 8,302 MW.

Delhi Jal Board announces Rs 2000 fine for wasting water
Additionally, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) declared that anyone caught wasting water will be fined Rs 2,000. The national capital’s water crisis was taken into consideration when making this decision.
The drive prohibits the overflow of water tanks, washing of cars and other vehicles, and the use of household water supply for construction and commercial reasons.
The board will send 200 teams across the national capital to crackdown upon violators who would be found wasting water. The AAP government has also ordered the disconnection of any unlawful water connections on building projects or commercial establishments.
