Delhi minister Atishi requests Delhi police to patrol major water pipelines

As Delhi grapples with a severe water shortage, Water Minister Atishi issued a letter to Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora on Monday, requesting that water pipelines in the national capital be patrolled.

She urged the commissioner to deploy police near major water pipelines and intensify patrolling in the national capital during the next 15 days.

Atishi, seeking Delhi Police support, writes, “I am writing to request the deployment of police personnel to patrol and protect our major pipelines for the next 15 days.”

“This would be critical for preventing miscreants or people with ulterior motives from tampering with our water pipelines, which have now become Delhi’s lifelines.” At this point, any foul play or sabotage will exacerbate Delhi’s already severe water deficit,” she said.

AAP MLAs approached the residence of Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil

Meanwhile, AAP MLAs arrived at the residence of Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil in Delhi.

Speaking to news agency ANI, AAP MLA Rakhi Birla said, “It is sad that we delivered a letter to Minister CR Patil yesterday, and today our delegation went to his residence to meet with him, but we have learned that he is not there. We want to request that the minister pay attention to the issue of water shortages in Delhi.”

BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat from West Delhi accused the AAP government of causing the current water crisis in the national capital. He stated that residents of Dwarka have been complaining about water shortages since private tankers are more expensive and “they are unable to avail government tankers.”

Taking a potshot at AAP, she said, “The Delhi government is blaming other state governments for the water shortage, whereas the problem lies within their department… I request Atishi not on humanitarian grounds, but as a minister in the Delhi government, she needs to take care of her department.”

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
