Delhi Court dismisses Kejriwal’s interim bail plea
Arvind Kejriwal suffered a setback on Wednesday when Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court denied his interim release application based on health. However, the court has issued specific directives for his medical exams. Kejriwal’s judicial detention has been extended for 14 days, until June 19, in a money laundering case related to the now-defunct Delhi liquor policy.
Arvind Kejriwal had requested seven days in court for an examination into his health conditions.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) claimed that Kejriwal was misleading the court and that he had become ill when it was time to submit to the police.

The Tihar jail authorities rejected the AAP leaders’ claims, stating that the chief minister’s weight was taken using only one machine and that he was not provided with a cooler because the facility is only provided with a court order.
Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest by ED in Liquor Policy Case
After months of speculation, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) detained Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on March 21 in a money laundering case involving the suspected liquor policy scam.
Kejriwal was arrested at his apartment amid tight security hours after the Delhi High Court denied him interim protection from the Central agency’s coercive action and scheduled a hearing for April 22.
The arrests has been interpreted as part of a broader crackdown on opposition leaders by Central agencies. According to the opposition parties, 95% of the cases registered by Central probe agencies since 2014—when the BJP took control at the Centre—are against their politicians.
