Last year, following a massive fire at an IAS coaching institute in Mukherjee Nagar, a survey of such coaching centres that violated construction rules was undertaken. However, it is claimed that the civic body’s activity was halted midway.
In May of this year, the Delhi High Court asked the MCD and the Delhi Development Authority to immediately close coaching centers that violated fire safety standards.
