First Innings summary – Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) opted to bat first and got off to flying start with Faf du Plessis’s quickfire 35 runs in 23 balls. However, Mustafizur Rahman’s CSK stint saw him eliminate Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar in a matter of three balls and then Deepak Chahar getting Maxwell out on a duck saw RCB come to halt. From 41-0 to 42-3, RCB’s initial gains were washed out, forcing Virat Kohli and Cameroon Green to go slow for the next few overs. In the 11th over of the game, Virat Kohli attempted to hit Mustafizur out of the park but Rahane’s brilliant catch dimissed him on 21. In a one-bring-two situation, Rahman removed Green in the next two balls.
With youngster Anuj Rawat and veteran Dinesh Karthik on the pitch and 78/5 on the scoreboard, RCB camp was looking at a not so rosy picture. However, another turnaround in the match came with Anuj Rawat hitting 4 massive sixes in a matter of few balls. The runs kept coming for RCB from both the ends, pushing RCB to finish at 173/6 in 20 overs.
