Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s public event in Gandhi Nagar on Friday, August 22, descended into chaos after a BJP worker raised slogans during the programme.
Police identified the individual as Praveen Sharma, a local cable TV operator from Ajeet Nagar, who claims to have been associated with the BJP for the past 40 years. According to officials, Sharma shouted slogans against Congress MLA Arvinder Singh Lovely while the legislator was addressing the gathering. He was immediately overpowered by security personnel stationed behind the barricades and escorted away.

DCP Shahdara confirmed that no breach of the Chief Minister’s security took place and that Gupta remained unharmed throughout the disruption.
The incident comes on the heels of a more serious episode just two days earlier, on August 20, when Gupta was allegedly slapped and assaulted by a man during a ‘Jan Sunwai’ programme at her residence. Following that attack, authorities reviewed and strengthened her security cover.
