In a significant display of bilateral cooperation, India has delivered BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles to the Philippines today, marking a milestone in the strategic partnership between the two nations. This delivery follows a deal signed in 2022, valued at USD 375 million, highlighting the commitment of both countries towards enhancing defense capabilities and fostering regional security.

India’s BrahMos Missile Delivery to Philippines

One of the most sophisticated weapons in its class, the BrahMos missile system is a joint venture between Russia and India and is renowned for its speed, accuracy, and versatility. When in flight, the BrahMos missile accelerates to 2.8 Mach, or almost three times the speed of sound.

With its delivery to the Philippines, India has demonstrated its willingness to share state-of-the-art defense technology with its allies, strengthening strategic alliances and diplomatic ties throughout the Indo-Pacific region.

As the Philippines looks to strengthen its defense capabilities in the face of changing geopolitical challenges, this move has important implications for regional security dynamics. The Philippines can now better defend its territorial integrity and maritime interests since it has a powerful deterrent against possible threats thanks to the acquisition of BrahMos missiles.

In addition to fortifying defense ties, the USD 375 million agreement creates opportunities for cross-sector collaboration, resulting in partnerships that benefit both nations.

This development further emphasizes India’s emergence as a dependable defense partner that can satisfy the various security requirements of its allies. POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
