Hyderabad Police detained Aman Preet Singh, brother of Bollywood actor Rakul Preet Singh, and four others on Monday in connection with an alleged narcotics case, according to police.

Telangana Anti-Narcotics Department seized 2.6 kgs of cocaine

Aman and the other suspects were detained earlier in the day when the Telangana Anti-Narcotics Department discovered that 2.6 kg of cocaine was being transported to Hyderabad for sale.

The police team busted the drug racket and identified 30 customers of the contraband, which included Aman Preet Singh.

Accused to be produced in court after medical examination

All five defendants, identified as Aman Preet Singh, Aniketh Reddy, Prasad, Madhusudhan, and Nikhil Daman, are currently in police custody and will appear in court after a medical test.

“As consumers, we picked up five people and brought them to the police station. In the urine test kit, all of them were found positive. They have been taken into custody. We are now sending them for detailed medical examination,” Srinivas, DCP, Cyberabad Police, Rajendra Nagar Zone said.

Rakul Preet Singh had earlier been questioned by ED in a narcotics trafficking and consumption case

Notably, Rakul Preet Singh has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a narcotics trafficking and consumption case from 2022 to 2021.

The probe agency also recorded her statement in this case last year. Aside from Rakul, Rana Daggubati, Charmme Kaur, Navdeep, Ravi Teja, and Puri Jagannadh were all summoned for questioning in the narcotics case.

The ED has been looking into a drug trafficking and consumption case for the past four years. Telangana’s Prohibition and Excise Department busted a high-end narcotics syndicate in 2017, prompting the launch of this investigation. The cartel supplied LSD, MDMA, and other narcotics.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
