On Saturday, the bodies of three civilians, one of whom was a teenager, were discovered in the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir after they had gone missing while heading to a wedding.

The remains of Varun Singh (15) from Dehota, his uncle Yogesh Singh (32), and maternal uncle Darshan Singh (40) were discovered in Ishu Nallah in Malhar region by drones during a combined search operation conducted by the J&K police and the Indian Army this afternoon.

An official stated that the bodies were eventually recovered from the site after a frantic attempt because the terrain was steep.

The official additionally mentioned that an initial inquiry has excluded a terror connection, as there were no apparent indications of harm on the bodies. The precise reason for death will be established following an autopsy.

The civilians went missing on Thursday night, prompting a massive search operation in the Lohai Malhar region of Kathua district to find them. The Indian Army, together with the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, carried out a coordinated manhunt.

Residents in the region reported that the three civilians vanished at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. They had departed from home to go to a wedding in the Billawar region.

The wedding party was making its way from Dehota village in Billawar to Surag village located in Lohai Malhar.

During a similar incident involving missing civilians in February, the bodies of two villagers, Shamsher (37) and Roshan (45), were discovered in the village of Kohag in Billawar. Nevertheless, their autopsy subsequently disclosed they had been strangled to death.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
