Loud explosion near CRPF Public School in Prashant Vihar area in Delhi’s Rohini
On Sunday, a loud explosion was heard in Prashant Vihar in Rohini, Delhi. After the loud sound, clouds of smoke were spotted coming from an area close to the CRPF Public School in Rohini, along with a video appearing on the internet.
The noise came from near the school’s wall, causing the windows of nearby vehicles to break because of the explosion, as seen in the visuals from the scene.
Police cordoned off the entire area near the school after discovering a white powdery substance near the wall. A group of NIA officials arrived at the location to investigate if there were any connections to terrorism regarding the unexplained explosion.
NSG commandos arrive at the scene; heavy police deployed
NSG commandos arrived at the location of the explosion. In addition, a heavy police have been deployed close to the school and canines are being utilized to locate potential evidence.
Social networking platforms, such as Telegram, are being scanned for any hints related to the explosion. Terrorists often use these platforms to communicate before executing acts of terror.
A team of Forensic Science Laboratory also reached the spot and have collected samples to ascertain how the blast was carried out.
Sources said that the loud noise near the school’s wall might have been caused by a cylinder explosion, as there are many shops in the vicinity. The reason for the explosion is still unknown, but there have been no reports of injuries so far.

India Today acquired multiple videos illustrating the destruction of nearby shops caused by the explosion’s impact near the school. The videos display the debris of the shops lining the streets after the explosion.
“The only possibilities which we think of are a cylinder blast or a building collapse. There was a big cloud of smoke here which stayed for a good 10 minutes. The glass of the shops here has broken, and the hoardings have been displaced,” an eyewitness said.
