In a major organisational rejig ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, the BJP on Tuesday appointed new state chiefs for Punjab, Telangana, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh. The party has named Union minister G Kishan Reddy, Sunil Jakhar and Babulal Marandi its president in Telangana, Punjab and Jharkhand respectively.

Complete list of newly elected state presidents:

  • Union Minister G Kishan Reddy will lead the BJP’s Telangana unit. He will replace Bandi Sanjay Kumar, a fellow BJP MP from Karimnagar.

As the head of the party’s election management committee in the southern state, the BJP has also appointed former Telangana minister Etala Rajendra.

Meanwhile, Kiran Kumar Reddy, a former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, has been elected to the BJP’s national executive committee.

POWER CORRIDORS

Power Corridors (PC), as the name suggests, is about realpolitik—what is happening in the quarters that matter, how and why it is happening, the statics and dynamics of the affairs of the state. Yet, PC is not confined to power politics; it goes beyond the vicissitudes of Lutyen’s Delhi. It also features the most important developments in the economy, society, culture, cinema—in life in general.

It is a general magazine, but it offers insights that would be the envy of specialist publications and academic journals. For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
