PM Modi hails India’s long-standing ties with Russia
Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the two nations’ long-standing ties on Tuesday, calling Russia a “all-weather friend” of India in front of an exuberant audience of Indians in Moscow. PM Modi’s nearly one-hour speech included mentions of India’s digital development, the Chandrayaan-3 feat, and the recent T20 cricket World Cup victory, all accompanied by chants of ‘Modi, Modi’.
“The relationship between India and Russia is reaching unprecedented heights. PM Modi stated that President Vladimir Putin assisted Indian students who were caught in a combat zone.

“The world is startled by the country’s rapid development during the last decade. When people from all over the world visit India, they say, ‘Bharat badal raha hai’,” PM Modi stated.
“When India organizes successful events like the G20, the entire world says, ‘Bharat badal raha hai’. When India increases the number of airports in a decade, the world says, ‘Bharat badal raha hai’. When India electrifies over 40,000 km of railway lines in just ten years, the world recognises India’s power; they say the country is transforming,” the Prime Minister added.
The Prime Minister, who is on a two-day visit to Russia, his first since the Russia’s Ukraine invasion, also criticized the former Congress government, claiming that India had descended into despair before 2014.
“Today, the country exudes confidence, which is India’s greatest advantage. You, too, must have enjoyed the recent T20 World Cup win… The true story of winning the World Cup is also a route to victory. “Today’s Indian youth will not accept defeat until the last ball and moment,” he remarked.
