Bollywood superstar Salman Khan faces yet another threat to his life, as an anonymous message to Mumbai traffic control demanded a ransom of ₹2 crore, warning that failure to pay would result in the actor’s death, police sources disclosed.
Mumbai Police have registered a case against an unidentified person under the l CodIndian Penae sections related to extortion and criminal intimidation, launching a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
This threat follows the recent arrest of Gufran Khan, a 20-year-old man from Noida, who was detained for issuing threats to both Salman Khan and NCP leader Ajit Pawar’s son, Zeeshan Siddiqui, who was tragically shot on October 12. Gufran Khan has since been brought to Mumbai on a transit remand.

Earlier in October, Mumbai traffic police also received a WhatsApp threat demanding ₹5 crore. In connection with that incident, authorities arrested Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin, a 24-year-old vegetable seller from Jamshedpur.
Salman Khan has previously received threats, particularly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, reportedly angered by his involvement in a blackbuck hunting case in Rajasthan. In April, gunshots were fired near Khan’s Bandra residence, prompting a security upgrade for the actor.
This unsettling wave of threats has cast a shadow over the entertainment industry. Just days after the murder of Khan’s close friend Baba Siddique, the actor returned to the set of the reality show “Bigg Boss,” expressing his grief and acknowledging that he felt emotionally overwhelmed and hesitant about rejoining the show.
