Amravati to be the capital of Andhra Pradesh: Chandrababu Naidu
A day before taking oath as Andhra Pradesh’s chief minister, Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu declared Amaravati to be the state capital. Naidu committed to make Amaravati the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh, as well as to complete the Polavaram Project.
He added that Visakhapatnam will be developed as the economic capital and an advanced special city.
“Amaravati will be our capital. We intend to pursue constructive politics rather than revenge politics. Visakhapatnam will be the state’s commercial capital. We will not play games with people like attempting to have three capitals or engaging in other malicious acts. Visakhapatnam has issued a full mandate. We will build Rayalaseema to give us a strong mandate,” Chandrababu Naidu said.
