Prime Minister Narendra Modi and outgoing US President Joe Biden met at the G20 Summit in Brazil and Modi posted a photo of their meeting on his X profile. PM Modi expressed his joy in meeting him while sharing the picture. A video appeared on the internet showing the two leaders shaking hands at the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The theme for this year’s G20 Summit under Brazil’s presidency is ‘Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet’, with a focus on social inclusion, poverty reduction, sustainable development, and reforms in global governance.
Continuing from the priorities India outlined last year, PM Modi said before his departure from Niegria, “This year, Brazil has built upon India’s legacy. I look forward to meaningful discussions in keeping with our vision of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future.’ I will also use the opportunity to exchange views on furthering bilateral cooperation with several other leaders.”

Expressing gratitude for the reception, PM Modi wrote on X, “Deeply touched by the warm and lively welcome from the Indian community upon arriving in Rio de Janeiro. Their energy reflects the affection that binds us across continents.”
PM Modi is visiting Brazil for the third time, having previously attended the BRICS Summits in 2014 and 2019. India successfully brought together global leaders to address the Russia-Ukraine war at the G20 Summit in New Delhi last year through the New Delhi Declaration.
While serving as the G20 chair, India successfully advocated for the admission of the 55-country African Union to the group, showcasing its increasing power as a representative of the developing world.
This year’s G20 Summit, hosted by Brazil, will center around the theme of ‘Creating a Fair World and a Sustainable Planet’, emphasizing social inclusion, poverty alleviation, sustainable development, and improvements in global governance.
