AAP accuses BJP workers of vandalising Delhi Jal Board office

In the midst of protests over the severe water shortage in the national capital, Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj accused BJP leaders and members of vandalising a Delhi Jal Board office. Bharadwaj called it a “conspiracy” against the administration and posted a video of protesters shattering the windows of an office with stones and earthen pots.

“See BJP leaders wearing party sashes and its workers raising slogans of BJP Zindabad vandalising government property at the Delhi Jal Board office. Who is getting pipelines broken at various places? Whose conspiracy is it?” he said in a post on X in Hindi.

Delhi Jal Board office vandalised; 3 injured

Amid a severe heatwave, Delhi is experiencing a water crisis, prompting public resentment against the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government. A gang of individuals vandalised the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) headquarters in Chhattarpur, smashing glass with earthen pots, according to a video provided by news agency ANI.

Ramesh Bidhuri, a BJP leader, alleged the Delhi government is dishonest and accused it of trying to divert attention away from corruption allegations. “”They’re attempting to shift the story in order to insulate themselves from corruption charges. There has been no audit at the Delhi Jal Board. It is making a loss of Rs 70,000 crore. This is a corrupt government. According to ANI, Bidhuri stated, “We put forward our demand to be free from this government.”

Bidhuri urged the public not to harm property, noting their displeasure but advocating restraint. “People can do anything when they are angry. I am grateful to the BJP workers who kept the people under control. It is the property of both the government and the people. There is no value to harming this property. “I appeal to people not to vandalize public property,” he stated.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
