With the start of Char Dham Yatra, there is a huge rush of crowd at the pilgrimage sites. Questions are being raised on the preparations of Pushkar Singh Dhami government after more than 12 thousand people reached Yamunotri Dham on the very first day.

The video, depicting a perilous circumstance prompted worries regarding the administration’s arrangements as well as the safety of devotees. Worshippers complained having to stand in line for hours and accused the Uttarakhand government of mishandling their situation.

Environmentalists are also worried considering the huge crowd in Char Dham Yatra.

In an exclusive telephonic conversation with India Today TV, the Superintendent of Police, Uttarkashi, Arpan Yaduvanshi, stated that the viral video was taken yesterday evening at approximately five o’clock on the pedestrian route between Janaki Chatti and Yamunotri Dham.

He claimed that the incident was limited to a 200-meter radius and that the situation was getting worse due to the heavy rains that was occurring at the same time as a sizable influx of pilgrims traveling to Yamunotri Dham.

As a result, the chaotic scenario seen in the video was created as people flocked to seek shelter from the rain, according to Uttarkashi Superintendent of Police.

According to the authorities, everything was quickly brought under control throughout the region, and no injuries were reported.

Char Dham Yatra began on May 10

On the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, the doors to the Kedarnath and Yamunotri temples in the Garhwal Himalayas were opened to pilgrims, marking the start of the Chardham Yatra. The temples had been locked over the winter.

At 7 am in the morning, the doors of the revered Himalayan temples honoring the goddess Yamunotri and the God Shiva, respectively, were opened in front of throngs of worshippers and hymns were chanted.

Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and his wife Geeta were present as the gates of Kedartnath opened to worshipers.

“It is an auspicious day for which we wait throughout the year. I welcome you all on the occasion. May you all be showered with the blessings of Baba Kedar,” Dhami said addressing a gathering outside the temple after offering prayers.
