Arvind Kejriwal to start campaigning today; hold roadshow

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is set to get started right away and will hold a roadshow today, just a day after being granted interim bail. Following his release, Kejriwal made his first public speech in which he encouraged people to “save the country from dictatorship”.

Kejriwal has been given bail by the Supreme Court until June 1st in order to campaign in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Arvind Kejriwal is a pivotal leader in the INDIA alliance that was established to challenge Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the elections.

He is scheduled to visit the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place, Delhi, and hold a roadshow in South Delhi today. Later in the day, the Chief Minister is also expected to address a press conference at the Delhi office of the Aam Aadmi Party.

The party is now anticipated to present Kejriwal in all of its polling campaigns, with the fourth phase of voting set for May 13.

In New Delhi on May 25, voting on all 7 Lok Sabha seats will be held.

As the news of Kejriwal’s release circulated, celebrations erupted among the INDIA bloc parties, with his Aam Aadmi Party hailing it as a “triumph of truth”.

Kejriwal was granted interim bail yesterday

Yesterday, the Supreme Court had granted Kejriwal bail till June 1 to campaign for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

More than a thousand jubilant supporters greeted the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party as he left Tihar Jail on Friday night. He addressed the assembly, saying, “We have to save this country from dictatorship.” “I am fighting against it with all of my might.”

“Though disturbed, truth cannot be defeated. The Honorable Supreme Court’s ruling is applaudable. There will be an end to the dictatorship. Jayate Satyamev,” AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, also an accused in the money laundering case, wrote in a post in Hindi on X.

Amit Shah, the home minister, tried to downplay his release, though.

“This is not regular bail. It is an interim bail. He can campaign but every time he goes to campaign, people will be reminded of the excise scam,” he said in West Bengal’s Raniganj.

Following the implementation of a policy to liberalize the sale of liquor in 2021 and relinquish a lucrative government stake in the business, Arvind Kejriwal and the Delhi administration faced accusations of corruption.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
