Ceremonial salute, heartfelt homage, and veteran freedom fighter R. Madavan honoured at the celebrations.

New Delhi, August 15: The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, V.K. Saxena, hoisted the National Flag at Raj Niwas today to mark the Nation’s 79th Independence Day. The ceremony featured a ceremonial police contingent presenting the National Salute.

Paying homage to the martyrs and countless heroes of India’s freedom struggle, Shri Saxena said it is their supreme sacrifices that have enabled our generation to live in freedom and peace. On the occasion, the LG also honoured and felicitated veteran freedom fighter Shri R. Madavan.

Extending warm greetings to all, especially the people of Delhi,  Saxena urged citizens to renew their pledge to serve the nation with renewed vigour, sincerity, and commitment.
