iPhone 17 Pro India Launch: Date, Price And All You Need To Know!

Apple is gearing up for its biggest launch of 2025 the iPhone 17 series expected in the first week of September. While the company has not made an official announcement, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that the launch event is likely to take place on September 9 or 10.

The lineup is expected to include:

1. iPhone 17

2. iPhone 17 Pro

3. iPhone 17 Pro Max

4. iPhone 17 Air a new slim variant replacing the Plus model

Alongside the new iPhones, Apple is also expected to unveil the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch SE 3, and Apple Watch Ultra 3.

Pricing in India (Expected)

1. iPhone 17 Pro: Rs.1,45,990 (starting price)

2. iPhone 17 Pro Max: Rs.1,64,990 (starting price)

3. Prices for the iPhone 17 Air and standard iPhone 17 are yet to be confirmed.

Earlier reports suggested the iPhone 17 Air would be a premium model priced above the Pro Max, but sources now indicate it will be positioned as a mid-range option more expensive than the standard iPhone 17 but cheaper than the Pro series.

Display & Design

The iPhone 17 series is expected to maintain display sizes similar to the iPhone 16 lineup:

1. Pro: 6.3-inch display

2. Pro Max: 6.9-inch display

3. Air: size between Pro and Pro Max

4. Standard: expected to grow from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches

All four models are expected to feature ProMotion 120Hz refresh rates via LTPO OLED panels. While LTPO supports always-on displays, it remains unclear if this will be offered across all models or remain exclusive to the Pro variants.

The Pro models may shift from a titanium frame to half-glass, half-aluminium builds, improving durability while retaining MagSafe charging. Camera modules may adopt a horizontal pill-shaped layout, a design also expected for the iPhone 17 Air.

Performance Upgrades

1. Powered by Apple’s A19 Pro chip (TSMC’s 3nm process) for improved speed and efficiency

2. Up to 12GB RAM for smoother multitasking and Apple Intelligence AI features

Camera Enhancements

Front Camera: All models expected to upgrade from 12MP to 24MP for sharper selfies and improved cropping.

Rear Cameras: 

1. Pro Max: Triple 48MP setup (Wide, Ultra Wide, Tetraprism Telephoto) + possible 8K video recording

2. Pro: Similar setup but without exclusive 8K features confirmed

3. Air: Single 48MP rear camera

4. Standard: Dual-lens (Wide + Ultra Wide)

The Pro models may debut mechanical aperture technology allowing adjustable light intake for better depth control a first for iPhones. They could also feature dual video recording (front and rear simultaneously) and retain 5x optical zoom via the Telephoto lens, which remains exclusive to Pro models.
