A coordinated response by the Border Security Force (BSF) and Meghalaya Police has led to the arrest of four of the suspected intruders. One was apprehended from Bagli, while three others were captured in the forested Chibak area. Interrogations are ongoing to track down the remaining suspects and uncover the full scope of the incursion.
The incident has raised serious concerns about border security measures in the remote region. Inspector General O.P. Upadhayay of the BSF Meghalaya Frontier stated, “We will thoroughly investigate how these Bangladeshi intruders managed to cross into our territory undetected and take stringent measures to prevent such breaches in the future.”
This latest intrusion has intensified scrutiny on the BSF’s vigilance and prompted calls for enhanced patrols and surveillance along the porous border to safeguard local communities from cross-border violence.
