New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have announced the signing of New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert as a replacement for England’s Jacob Bethell, who is set to leave the franchise to fulfill his national commitments.

Bethell, who joined RCB for the IPL 2025 season, impressed with his athletic fielding and useful cameos in the middle order. However, with England’s international calendar ramping up, the young all-rounder will head back home, leaving a gap in RCB’s squad as the tournament enters a crucial phase.
To bolster their batting depth and maintain their balance, RCB have drafted in the explosive Tim Seifert — a seasoned T20 campaigner with international and franchise experience around the globe. Known for his aggressive batting at the top of the order and quick glove work behind the stumps, Seifert brings valuable experience to the RCB setup.
The Kiwi cricketer has featured in over 50 T20 internationals, with more than 80 sixes to his name, and has been a consistent performer in various T20 leagues, including the Caribbean Premier League and Big Bash. His ability to adapt to different match situations and provide rapid starts or late-innings acceleration makes him a versatile addition to the squad.
RCB’s management welcomed Seifert into the team, expressing confidence in his ability to slot in seamlessly as the side pushes for a playoff spot. “We’re excited to have Tim join us at this important juncture of the season. His experience and explosive style suit our brand of cricket perfectly,” said an RCB spokesperson.
