Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, at the inauguration of the BrahMos missile facility on Sunday, stated that the Indian Army, via Operation Sindoor, has brought justice to families affected by terror attacks. “The Indian Army has brought the anti-India and terrorist groups that assaulted India to justice via Operation Sindoor. The whole country is honoring the Indian forces for this,” he stated.

‘More than just a military action’

Singh highlighted that Operation Sindoor was more than merely a military action; it represented India’s political, social, and strategic determination.

“This action reflects India’s strong resolve against terrorism and showcases the capability and determination of our armed forces. We have demonstrated that whenever India takes action against terrorism, the territory across the border will not be secure for terrorists and their leaders,” he added.

The Defence Minister stated that the operation was initiated to dismantle terrorist infrastructure within Pakistan. “We have never aimed at their civilian population. However, Pakistan not only aimed at Indian civilian regions but also tried to carry out assaults on temples, gurdwaras, and churches.”

He commended the Indian Army’s bravery and self-control. “Our troops delivered a vigorous reply by targeting multiple military sites in Pakistan.” Singh stated, “The effects of our actions were experienced not just close to the border but also in Rawalpindi, where the headquarters of the Pakistani army is situated.”

In his speech, Singh mentioned that India’s Operation Sindoor represents more than just a military operation; it embodies India’s political, social, and strategic resolve.

Brahmos Missile Facility

Constructed at a cost of Rs 300 crore, the manufacturing facility will create the BrahMos missiles, which have a range of 290 to 400 km and a maximum speed of Mach 2.8. Created by BrahMos Aerospace, a collaboration between India and Russia, the missile is capable of being launched from land, sea, or air and operates on a “fire and forget” guidance system.

The recently inaugurated Aerospace Integration and Testing Facility in Lucknow is set to produce 80 to 100 BrahMos missiles each year. Furthermore, every year, 100 to 150 next-generation BrahMos missiles will be produced.

The new BrahMos missile will possess a strike range exceeding 300 kilometres and will weigh 1,290 kilograms, whereas the existing BrahMos missile has a weight of 2,900 kilograms.

The production unit was unveiled as a component of the Defence Industrial Corridor initiative introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the 2018 Global Investors’ Summit. The cornerstone was established in 2021.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
