In his monthly ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the importance of Artificial Intelligence by mentioning his trip to Paris where he co-chaired the AI Action Summit alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, stating that Indians are “second to none” in adopting new technologies.

“Recently, I traveled to Paris to take part in a major AI conference. There, the global community highly valued India’s advancements in this area. We can also observe instances of how our nation’s citizens are utilizing AI in various manners today,” said Modi.

During the AI Action Summit on February 11, PM Modi emphasized the importance of global collaboration to create governance and standards for artificial intelligence in order to protect shared values and manage associated risks.

The prime minister added that AI is scripting the future for humanity in this century and noted it has the potential to change millions of lives by enhancing health, agriculture, and overall living conditions.

Prime Minister Modi also pointed out the case of Thodasam Kailash, a government teacher in Adilabad, Telangana, who has been working to protect the Kolami language using artificial intelligence.

“His passion for digital music and songs is aiding us in conserving our tribal languages.” He has excelled by creating a song in the Kolami language with the help of AI tools. He is utilizing AI to produce songs in various languages apart from Kolami. “Many of our tribal brothers and sisters on social media are really enjoying his tracks,” PM Modi stated during his speech.

The PM stressed that Indian youth’s increasing participation in space technology and AI has brought in a new revolution. “People of India are second to none in adopting and using new technologies,” he said further.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
