During the second Test in South Africa, BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar is scheduled to interact with lead batsman Virat Kohli, head-coach Rahul Dravid, and skipper Rohit Sharma.
India will prepare for the final T20 International encounter prior to the T20 World Cup in June this year after their second and final Test match against South Africa, which gets underway in Cape Town on Wednesday.
The Men in Blue will play Afghanistan in a 3-match series between January 11 and January 17. The Men in Blue defeated Australia 4-1 at home in a T20 series in November before being beaten to a 1-1 draw by the Proteas in December.
Hence, the selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar would have a difficult job before of them when choosing the team for the crucial series.
The crucial question is still whether Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will play in the T20 World Cup and return to the shorter format against Afghanistan.
Since November 2022, when India lost to England in the semifinals of the T20 World Cup in Australia, Kohli and Rohit have not played in T20 Internationals.

They had been concentrating on the ODI format. However, they both decided to prolong their break, which sparked debate over whether they would like to play in the World Cup following year.
Both Rohit and Kohli have expressed how excited they are to take part in the June ICC event. It went on to say that before revealing the team for the match against Afghanistan, Agarkar, the other two national selectors, Shiv Sunder Das and Salil Ankola, are anticipated to meet with head coach Rahul Dravid, star batsman Rohit Sharma, and head coach Rohit for the Test and ODI series.
