Prashant Bhushan, Ex-AAP leader and lawyer, has blamed Arvind Kejriwal for the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) huge defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections, describing it as the “beginning of the end” of the party.

Bhushan, expelled from the party in 2015, accused Kejriwal of moving the party away from its fundamental beliefs and turning it into a “corrupt” organization.

Bhushan attacked Kejriwal in a post on X for straying from the AAP’s initial principles of accountability, openness, and alternative politics.

“A party formed for alternative politics, which was supposed to be transparent, accountable, and democratic, was quickly transformed by Arvind into a supremo-dominated, non-transparent, and corrupt party,” he wrote.

Bhushan also criticized the former chief minister for the ‘sheeshmahal’ controversy, which was a key election campaign issue and involved allegations that Kejriwal had renovated the chief minister’s home using public money.

“He built a Rs 45 crore sheeshmahal for himself and began travelling in luxury cars. He binned 33 detailed policy reports of expert committees set up by AAP, saying that the party would adopt expedient policies when the time comes,” Bhushan alleged.

Anna Hazare, a social activist, also commented on the AAP’s defeat, criticising Kejriwal for his ‘aam aadmi’ (common man) image.

When asked about the Sheeshmahal row, Hazare laughed and recalled Kejriwal’s promises.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
