India Coast Guard helicopter crashes at Porbandar Airport; 3 crew members die

On Sunday, a Coast Guard helicopter crashed at Porbandar airport in Gujarat, resulting in the deaths of three crew members, which included two pilots. The event took place at 12:10 pm, according to Porbandar Superintendent of Police Bhagirathsinh Jadeja.

On Sunday, a Coast Guard helicopter crashed at Porbandar airport in Gujarat, resulting in the deaths of three crew members, which included two pilots. The event took place at 12:10 pm, according to Porbandar Superintendent of Police Bhagirathsinh Jadeja.

According to the police, a Coast Guard Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) crashed while landing at Porbandar Airport at 12:10 pm. The accident happened during a standard training flight.

The helicopter, with three crew members aboard, crashed at the Porbandar airport. Officials reported that all three individuals were saved from the debris and quickly taken to a hospital in Porbandar due to severe burns.

Despite medical intervention, all three crew members died from their injuries at the hospital, as confirmed by Inspector Rajesh Kanmiya of the Kamala Baug police station.

Officials from the Indian Coast Guard verified the fatalities and stated that an inquiry into the reason for the accident is in progress.

“The reasons leading to the incident are being investigated by a Board of Inquiry,” the Coast Guard said in a statement.

“We salute the three brave souls of the Indian Coast Guard who laid down their lives in the line of service to the Nation,” it added.

The accident occurs only two months following the incident involving another Coast Guard helicopter that fell into the ocean.
