The recently elected BJP MLAs are due to meet today, thus it looks like the speculation about the next chief minister of Rajasthan will come to an end on Tuesday night. After the party won the assembly elections, there was a period of uncertainty that has ended with this.
BJP state general secretary and MLA Bhajanlal Sharma on Monday said the meeting of the BJP Legislature Party has been called at 4 pm on Tuesday at the BJP state office and registration of all newly elected MLAs of the BJP will start at 1.30 pm.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has been selected as an observer by the party; National Vice President Saroj Pandey and National General Secretary Vinod Tawde will accompany him as observers during the meeting.
Arjun Ram Meghwal, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and former chief minister Vasundhara Raje are reportedly running for chief minister of Rajasthan, one of the three states that the BJP won in the most recent elections.
MLAs were briefed on Monday regarding the next legislative party meeting, which is scheduled to take place nine days after the results of the elections on November 25. It is during this meeting that the BJP’s central leadership will reveal its choice for the position.
In an apparent show of solidarity, a number of MLAs have called on the former CM Raje in recent days, amid speculation over the party’s decision. In Delhi, she also met party leaders.
