Mental Health is as important as any
We are complete individuals – our mental and physical selves are linked, perpetually interacting with one another. For example, the moment we experience a negative or anxious thought or perceive a possible threat or stressor, we unconsciously tighten muscle fibers in our body and begin to breathe more shallowly than we did just moments prior.
Our brain receives this signal and transmits several messages to the body via the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, readying it for “fight or flight,” similar to encountering a bear or tiger.
This might occur repeatedly throughout the day based on the number of perceived stressors we react to – such as looming or missed deadlines, remarks made during a meeting, or over-analyzing your appearance in the mirror earlier today.
vice versa..
Our mental health can be affected by our physical health in numerous ways too. For example, when we are in pain, hurt, diagnosed with a condition, or facing adverse reactions to aging, we might feel depressed and anxious because of the perceived or actual restrictions this creates in our lives, whether they are temporary or long-lasting.
There is so much that has been said and so much is still left. However, on a deeper level it is important to understand that mental health is not only a normal topic but there needs deep understanding of the subject to fight the mental illness.
