4 individuals arrested for stealing mobile belonging to French Ambassador Thierry Mathou
Earlier this month, four individuals were arrested for stealing French ambassador Thierry Mathou‘s mobile phone, while he was in the Chandni Chowk region of North Delhi.
The Delhi Police said in a statement issued on Wednesday that the lost phone has been recovered.
“Four persons have been arrested after French Ambassador to India, Dr Thierry Mathou filed an e-compliant that he lost his mobile phone near Jain Mandir in Chandni Chowk area on October 20. The mobile phone has been recovered,” Delhi Police said in a statement, news agency ANI reports.

The officials received information regarding the incident from the Embassy on October 21.
Police inspects CCTVs in Chandni Chowk and nab perpetrator
After receiving the complaint, the police inspected the CCTV cameras in the Chandni Chowk region and assembled a team to locate the perpetrator.
Each of the four accused is somewhere between 20 and 25 years old. According to the news agency PTI, they live in the trans-Yamuna region.
The authorities retrieved the phone from the suspect and returned it to the Ambassador.
The police stated that they are currently conducting further inquiry.
