IDF releases video showing Hezbollah’s weapons hidden in Lebanon’s residential zones

In the midst of its continued enforcement actions and consecutive airstrikes on hiding places of Iran-supported extremist organization Hezbollah, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) released a video on Thursday portraying its attacks in Lebanon’s residential zones where it claimed the Iran-supported extremist group had stored weapons.

As per the IDF, Hezbollah has strategically placed its weapons within civilian homes throughout Lebanon.

“For the last 20 years, Hezbollah built its terror network within population centres in Lebanon – primarily throughout southern Lebanon, an area that they turned almost entirely into a launch pad to attack Israel,” the IDF said in a post on X.

The video, shared on social media platform X, highlighted the clandestine nature of Hezbollah’s operations.

“Hezbollah doesn’t want you to watch this video. And they really don’t want you to share it,” the IDF said.

Video released by Israel Defense Forces to counter criticism about IDF’s bombings in populated areas

The video is viewed as an effort to address criticism about the IDF’s bombings in populated areas in Lebanon. The Israeli army also stated that its actions are part of a defensive operation aimed at destroying Hezbollah’s weapons, which it alleges were ready to attack Israeli civilians.

“The IDF has initiated a defensive operation against the Hezbollah group by carrying out accurate intelligence-driven attacks on numerous Hezbollah locations. Our objective is to prevent upcoming assaults plotted by Hezbollah, who aimed to utilize the same weapons that we eliminated – against Israeli residences,” it said.

The IDF also emphasized that the main objective of the mission is to guarantee that Israeli families can return to their residences safely, without the danger of Hezbollah’s weapons.

“Our goal is to make sure that Israeli families can safely and securely return to their homes,” it added.

Israel rejects a 21-day ceasefire proposal by US

Israel earlier in the day declined a 21-day ceasefire proposal in Lebanon led by the United States, promising to continue battling Hezbollah militants until they achieve victory.

“There will be no ceasefire in the north. We will continue to fight against the Hezbollah terrorist organisation with all our strength until victory and the safe return of the residents of the north to their homes,” Foreign Minister Israel Katz said in a post on X.

Hundreds of individuals have been killed this week due to Israeli airstrikes on Hezbollah strongholds in Lebanon, with the terror group responding by launching rocket barrages.
