Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel said that change is the law of nature. Respect for the motivators of change increases positivity in the society, inspires and encourages the future generation to participate in social concerns, promotes human values, sensitive, cooperative service spirit and mobilizes innovation efforts to address new challenges of development in society. He said that under the chairmanship of G-20 under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is playing a leading role in solving global challenges. Under her leadership, in the last 9 years, the country is moving fast with the vision of women-led development. He said that Prime Minister Shri Modi has asked to protect the environment and promote sustainability through Mission Life for conscious use rather than destructive use to address the challenges of climate change.
Former Chief Justice of India Justice K.G. Balakrishnan said that he loves coming to Bhopal. The greenery here has impressed him deeply. He said that every possible effort should be made to spread generosity in the society. He described the felicitation ceremony as a medium of inspiration for good works in the society.
Jury Advisor Shri Dayakar Ratakonda informed about the award selection process. He told that for the last 5 years, the felicitation ceremony is being organized at the national level.
Selection Committee’s advisor Mr. Shyam Jaju said that the felicitation ceremony inspires the public for personal, social and cultural change. He said that change in life is a symbol of development. Construction of toilets in households without toilets brings a big change in life. All efforts to bring change in life are honorable.

In his welcome address, Mr. Nandan Kumar Jha, the founder of Champions of Change Award said that the program is the second award ceremony of the Madhya Pradesh edition. The ceremony has been organized four times at the national level. State level programs have been organized in four states including Madhya Pradesh. Soon the awards will be given at the international level as well. The vote of thanks was proposed by Jury Advisor Mr. Banwarilal Chokse.
The national level Champions of Change Award has been organized in four editions. The inaugural Champions of Change Award was held on 26th December 2018 and the then Vice-President of India Shri M Venkaiah Naidu felicitated the awardees. The second edition took place on 20 January 2020 and Former President of India Bharat Ratna Shri Pranab Mukherjee felicitated the awardees. The third edition took place at Taj Resort & Convention Centre, Goa on 16th April 2021 with the then Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari as the Chief Guest while the fourth edition took place at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 26th February 2023 with Former President Shri Ram Nath Kovind as the Chief Guest.
Champions of Change is an Indian award, for promoting Gandhian values, (Swachata), community service and social development (in Aspirational districts in India), selected by constitutional jury members headed by K. G. Balakrishnan Former Chief Justice of India and Former Chairman NHRC, and Justice Gyan Sudha Misra, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India.
Interactive Forum on Indian Economy (IFIE) annually organizes Champions of Change Award at National and State-level in India and is usually presented by the President, Vice-President of India, Governor of State or the constitutional persons of India. From this year onwards, this award will be organized internationally at Washington DC, USA by the name of ‘Global Champion of Change’. Advocate Nandan Jha is the founder and Chairman of Champions of Change Award.
