A minimum of seven Pakistani soldiers lost their lives and 21 were wounded when their convoy moving from Quetta to Taftan was ambushed on Sunday. Though official reports verified seven fatalities, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has asserted responsibility for the assault, claiming that 90 military personnel were killed.
A comment from a Pakistani official indicated, “A convoy of security forces en route from Quetta to Taftan was assaulted. The convoy, made up of seven buses and two cars, was attacked. One of the buses was struck by a Vehicle-Borne IED, likely a suicide bombing, while another was assaulted with Rocket-Propelled Grenades (RPGs).”
Army Aviation helicopters have been sent to transport the wounded, and drones have been deployed for area surveillance, the official stated.
Reports indicate that a vehicle packed with IEDs crashed into one of the military buses. It was said to be a suicide bombing.

It stated, “Right after the assault, the Fateh Squad of the BLA moved forward and fully encircled another bus, methodically killing all military personnel aboard, raising the total enemy casualties to 90.”
