In the midst of a series of fake bomb threats targeting commercial airlines and various establishments nationwide in the past few weeks, 32 Air India flights were newly threatened with bombs on Tuesday.

Incident occurs a day after 7 round-trip Indian airlines flights were targeted with bomb threats

This occurred one day after seven round-trip flights operated by Indian airlines to and from Kolkata were targeted with bomb threats sent via social media posts.

The threats ended up being hoax and flights were still able to proceed.

NIA intensifies security measures nationwide

In the midst of a notable increase in airline threat calls, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has heightened security measures nationwide.

In the last two weeks alone, security agencies have reported receiving over 400 hoax calls, prompting widespread concern regarding the potential implications for passenger safety and national security.

NIA team

In response to these increasing dangers, the cyber division of the NIA has initiated a thorough examination of these foreign threat phone calls. This inquiry aims to uncover the reasons for these calls and evaluate their credibility.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) recently took a strict stance on hoax threat calls by issuing an advisory to social media platforms. They are required to follow IT Rules and Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and make “reasonable efforts” to quickly remove bomb threat posts or face consequences.

In light of these developments, the authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and take necessary measures to ensure public safety.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
