Encounter between Army and terrorists in J&K’s Doda; 3 terrorists killed
On Wednesday, three militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in a wooded area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district.
According to sources, four terrorists were hiding in the vicinity, and three were killed.
The gunfight began around 9.50 a.m. in Bajaad village in the Gandoh area, as police, the Army, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) intensified their search and cordon operation following twin terrorist attacks in the hilly district on June 11 and 12, according to news agency PTI.

Vijay Kumar, Additional Director General of Police J&K, stated that the police received information regarding the presence of three terrorists when they conducted a search operation this morning. Following a spate of terrorist strikes, operations to ferret out terrorists have intensified in the Doda and Rajouri sectors of Poonch during the last week.
The terrorists were thought to be responsible for recent attacks on the army and police in the Valley. A large stockpile of weaponry and ammo, including a US-made M4 carbine, was recovered from the encounter site.
Following the double attacks, security forces stepped up anti-terrorist operations and announced a Rs 5 lakh cash prize for four Pakistani militants suspected of infiltrating and operating in the district.
The police, aided by security personnel, conducted an operation in Sinoo panchayat village but were met with heavy fire from the terrorists sheltering there, according to the official.
The exchange of fire was still going on when the latest reports were received, they said.
