Army vehicle ambushed near J&K’s Gulmarg; 2 soldiers & 2 civilians killed

Officials reported that four individuals – two civilians and two soldiers – lost their lives when terrorists ambushed an Army vehicle close to Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir. The 18 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) owned the vehicle.

Four soldiers were injured in the assault and are receiving medical attention at a hospital.

The vehicle was on its way from Botpathri, located 5 kilometers from the Line of Control (LOC), when the terrorists carried out an attack. The two civilians who died in the attack were employed as porters for the Army.

Role of Pakistan’s Border Action Team not ruled out

Insiders mentioned that the role of Pakistan’s Border Action Team (BAT), skilled groups known for conducting cross-border attacks in the past, is not being ruled out.

The terrorists carried out an attack on the Army vehicle when the vehicle reached the remote Botpathri area. The security forces have launched counter operations in response to the terror attack.

Jammu & Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah condemns the attack

The attack was condemned by Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Unfortunate incident of the attack on Army convoy in the Botpathri region of North Kashmir that has led to casualties and injuries. The current series of attacks in Kashmir is alarming. I strongly condemn this attack and offer my deepest sympathies to the families of the victims. I also hope for a speedy and full recovery for the injured,” stated Abdullah.

Recently there has been an alarming surge in attacks on non-local labourers in Kashmir, with the latest attack occurring on Thursday morning. Today in the Tral area of Pulwama district, a labourer from Uttar Pradesh was injured by terrorists who fired shots at him.

On Sunday, a terror attack at a construction site in Ganderbal district resulted in the deaths of six non-local labourers and a local doctor. Another labourer from Bihar was also killed by terrorists in Shopian district on October 18.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
