As experienced National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) scientists, Indian-origin Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, make their extensive journey back to Earth after spending nine months in space, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent a letter to Williams, expressing his wishes for her safe return and good health. He also expressed that 1.4 billion Indians took pride in her accomplishments.
Following the arrival of a new crew at the space station on Saturday night, Wilmore, Williams, and two additional astronauts undocked from the International Space Station on Tuesday morning to start a 17-hour journey back to Earth.
In the letter from March 1, PM Modi stated, “During my visits to the United States, I asked both President Trump and President Biden about your health. 1.4 billion Indians have consistently felt immense pride in your accomplishments. Recent advancements have once more highlighted your motivating strength and determination.”
“Even though you are thousands of miles away, you continue to remain close to our hearts. The people of India are praying for your good health and success in your mission. Ms Bonnie Pandya must be keenly awaiting your return and I am sure that Late Deepakbhai’s blessings are with you as well. I fondly remember meeting him along with you during my visit to the United States in 2016,” he stated.
“Upon your return, we eagerly anticipate your visit to India.” “It will be a delight for India to welcome one of its most renowned daughters,” he stated.
