July 24, 2025 — In a major breakthrough against drug trafficking in Manipur’s hill districts, a joint team of Kangpokpi and Senapati district police, along with personnel from the 112 and 94 Battalions of the CRPF, seized a large consignment of narcotics and unaccounted cash during a cordon and search operation in T. Khullen village under Kangpokpi district.
Acting on credible intelligence inputs, the security forces raided the village and recovered 273 soap cases suspected to contain narcotic substances, weighing approximately 3.5 kilograms, alongside ₹99,09,850 in cash, seven mobile phones, two light motor vehicles (a Tata DI and a Hyundai Creta), financial documents, and various materials believed to be used in trafficking activities.

Four individuals belonging to the Zeliangrong Naga community were arrested in connection with the seizure. They have been identified as:

S. Poubinah Teinamei (31), daughter of Kapong Shakpa Teinamei, resident of T. Khullen, Kangpokpi District.

PF Adaphro (34), wife of TK Rocky, resident of T. Khullen, Kangpokpi District.

S. Boibina (29), wife of Moses, resident of T. Khullen, Kangpokpi District.

Lungdinibou Thiumei (52), son of Mahenthui Thuimei, resident of Khundong Khunkhaiba, Tamenglong District.
An FIR has been registered at Kangpokpi Police Station, and further investigation is underway to uncover the network and source of the contraband.
Authorities suspect a larger nexus behind the trafficking ring, and sources indicate that inter-district drug syndicates may be active in the region.
