United States Senator Lindsey Graham gave a serious warning of imposing significant tariffs on India and other nations that persist in buying oil from Russia.
In a Fox News interview, Senator Lindsey Graham (R–SC) warned that under a future Trump administration, the U.S. would impose 100 % tariffs on countries continuing to import Russian oil—specifically naming India, China, and Brazil—with the goal to “crush your economy” for funding Putin’s war effort.
Graham emphasized these nations account for about 80 % of global Russian crude exports and claimed their purchases amount to “blood money” sustaining Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
He also warned Russian President Vladimir Putin that this shift marks a new phase: “You played President Trump at your own peril… your economy is going to continue to be crushed”
