The sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War arrives with heightened expectations two superstars sharing the screen, Jr NTR’s first official Bollywood outing, Hrithik Roshan in a muscular, larger-than-life avatar, and Kiara Advani delivering more than just glamour. Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 promised scale, style, and suspense. But does it deliver on the hype?
Storyline
Hrithik Roshan reprises his role as Kabir, an ex-RAW agent turned feared mercenary, infamous as “the man who doesn’t miss” 20 kills in just 15 months. Although he claims to be a freelancer, Kabir is recruited by an international terrorist syndicate known as Kali. What the world doesn’t know is that Kabir’s allegiance is part of a secret mission to destroy Kali from within.
Parallelly, Wing Commander Kavya Luthra (Kiara Advani) is honoured for a daring evacuation operation. During the felicitation, her father, Colonel Karan Luthra (Ashutosh Rana), receives a call that turns out to be a deadly trap orchestrated by Kali. Kabir is ordered to assassinate Karan and he shockingly complies.
With the situation escalating, Anil Kapoor steps in as the new War Chief, determined to dismantle Kali’s network. He assembles a special team and brings in Vikram (Jr NTR), a fierce, unpredictable officer. RAW’s investigation leads them to Kabir’s daughter, Ruhi, whose safety Kabir entrusts to Soni Razdan (reprising her role as Tiger Shroff’s mother from the first film), hiding her in Manali.
High-adrenaline chases from roaring trains to screeching car pursuits pit Kabir and Vikram against each other until a turning point arrives. Kabir confides in Vikram, revealing his true mission, and the two team up. Vikram calls him “partner” as they join forces for a final, high-stakes operation.
