On Sunday, a bomb threat was emailed to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, leading security officials to initiate search operations at the site.
The airport’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) stated that bomb disposal teams were quickly sent in after the threat was reported, and comprehensive checks of all terminals are currently being conducted. Additional information is awaited.
Several hotels in Thiruvananthapuram received bomb threats on Saturday
The threat comes after several bomb threats were reported by various hotels in the state capital, Thiruvananthapuram, only a day prior, as stated by officials.
Law enforcement, together with bomb disposal teams and canine units, carried out searches at several hotels after receiving comparable bomb threats through email. Nevertheless, no explosives were discovered, and officials subsequently concluded that the threats were false.
In the last few days, a surge of email threats has shaken Kerala, with significant sites in the state being targeted, such as district collectorates, Revenue Divisional Offices, and the Kerala High Court. In all cases, extensive investigations by the police have verified that the threats were false, presenting no real risk.
Officials are urging the public to remain calm as inquiries continue. In reaction to the continuous array of threats, stringent security protocols have been implemented throughout the city.
