Trinamool Congress MP and actor Mimi Chakraborty has announced her retirement from the position, citing dissatisfaction with the local party leadership in her area.

The constituency of Jadavpur was won by Mimi Chakraborty in the Lok Sabha elections of 2019.

Mamata Banerjee, the head of the Trinamool Congress, has received the actor’s resignation.

But since she hasn’t submitted her resignation letter to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, this won’t be considered her official resignation.

After seeing Mamata Banerjee, Mimi Chakraborty spoke to the media and stated, “Today, I met our party supremo.” On February 13, I had handed in my resignation to her. After all these years, I’ve come to the realization that politics is not my thing.”

When asked why, in accordance with protocol, she submitted her resignation to Mamata Banerjee rather than the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Chakraborty replied, “Once I get the nod from the TMC, I will submit it to the Speaker.”

She replied she wouldn’t deny it when asked if the local leadership was impeding her ability to make decisions.

“Compromise on her mental peace” is not something Mimi Chakraborty will tolerate. She declared, “I won’t be where I’m not happy.”

Who is Mimi Chakraborty
Mmimi is an Indian actress, singer, and politician who was born on February 11, 1989. Her contributions to Bengali film and television are well-known. She portrayed Dola, the principal female character, in her feature début, Bapi Bari Jaa. In the Calcutta Times’ 2016 and 2020 lists of the Most Desirable Women, she was ranked as the most attractive lady.

She entered politics in 2019 and ran as a Trinamool Congress candidate in the Indian general election from the Jadavpur Loksabha Constituency. She represents the Jadavpur constituency as a member of parliament in the 17th Lok Sabha.

In various capacities, Chakraborty has participated in Fame Fashion and Creative Excellence (FFACE). She debuted the FFACE Calendar’s first edition at the Tantra, Park Hotel in Kolkata in 2014. She participated in the innovative greeting card created by FFACE as the FFACE of DURGA that year, which promoted women’s empowerment.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
