Do you frequently catch yourself grabbing that piece of cake stored in the refrigerator during the winter months? If so, then you are not alone.

Winter truly arrives with delightful weather and the pleasure of enjoying food wrapped in blankets. However, a frequent issue during the cold season is excessive indulgence. You could easily forget the time while indulging in popcorn and sweets as you enjoy your favorite series from the coziness of your bed. This may result in considerable weight increase. Have you ever considered why you often eat more during the winter?

Don’t worry, nutritionist Palak Nagpal is available to address your questions. In a video shared on Instagram, she has presented food substitutes to help maintain your weight.

In the video, Palak mentions, “Everyone consumes more food during winter. However, are you putting on weight? Actually, the response is no. But only if you have a proper diet. During winter, your food intake increases as the body needs extra energy to stay warm. During winter, it is frequently carbohydrates that you desire, and consuming the incorrect varieties can indeed lead to weight gain.

Now, let’s examine the dietary changes recommended by Palak Nagpal.

The nutritionist stated that during winter, you often have cravings for carbohydrates. “Processed choices such as sugar and white bread provide immediate energy but result in crashes.” “Instead, concentrate on protein and fiber to manage cravings,” she states.

Choosing smart snacks is another alternative. “Consider pairing nuts with fruit or vegetables and hummus,” recommends Palak Nagpal.

According to Palak Nagpal, “Seasonal dishes such as besan ladoo, chikki, porridge, soups, and stews help you feel cozy and content. Spices that warm, such as cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg, can enhance blood flow. You may also enjoy panjiri, gond laddoo, and halwa.”

She highlights the importance of eating dal and greens such as bathua, saag, palak, and green garlic.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
