A 26-year-old student from Telangana was reportedly discovered dead with gunshot wounds in the US. However, the situation surrounding his death remains uncertain.
G Praveen was pursuing his MS degree in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. US authorities informed his family about the incident on Wednesday morning, according to news agency PTI.
His cousin Arun informed PTI that several friends mentioned Praveen’s body was discovered with bullet wounds. Some claim he was killed by unidentified attackers at a shop, yet the family was unaware of the cause of death, he stated.
Arun also mentioned that Praveen’s father got a call from him in the early morning on Wednesday, but he was unable to answer it because he was asleep. The parents are in disbelief after hearing about the incident, he stated.

Praveen’s family originates from Ranga Reddy district, which is adjacent to Hyderabad.
Reacting on the incident, India Embassy said, “We are saddened by the untimely death of Praveen Kumar Gampa, a Post-graduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The Consulate is in contact with Praveen’s family and the University, helping them with all possible support. Our heartfelt condolences and prayers are with his family and friends of the departed.”
In response to the incident, BJP leader N Ramchander Rao stated, “The unfortunate demise of a Telangana student employed part-time at a store in the US. The US government ought to safeguard at least the legal immigrants…this event demonstrates that racial discrimination continues to exist in the US…racial discrimination is rising even with the Indian contribution to the expansion of the US economy. The US government must implement strict measures.”
