Delhi LG VK Saxena has instructed the Police Commissioner to launch training programs for teachers and students, focusing on tackling cyber bullying, hoax bomb threats, and self-defense. This swift action follows concerns raised by educators during the Samvaad@Rajniwas event.

In a decisive move following concerns raised during Samvaad@Rajniwas, Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena has directed the Police Commissioner to organize training sessions for teachers and students to address the increasing risks of cyber bullying, cyber crime, and hoax bomb threats.

The directive comes after an interaction on December 20, 2024, where principals and teachers from private schools in the capital shared their concerns about the growing threats impacting schools. Educators stressed the urgent need for specialized training to handle such challenges and to counsel students effectively on issues related to cyber safety.

Responding promptly, the LG Secretariat communicated with the Police Commissioner, stating:

“During the course of ‘Samvaad,’ the teachers apprised Hon’ble Lt. Governor that with increasing cases of cyber bullying, crimes, and hoax bomb threats, there is a need to train teachers and staff of schools to deal with such situations. They further apprised Hon’ble Lt. Governor that teachers need training to counsel students about cyber bullying and threats.”

The LG has instructed Delhi Police to devise and implement training programs focusing on cyber crime, critical security issues, and self-defense. These programs will target both teaching staff and students to enhance preparedness and safety measures in schools.

The Police Commissioner has been asked to ensure swift action, with an Action Taken Report to be submitted within 15 days. The initiative reflects a proactive approach to safeguarding educational institutions and addressing modern security challenges in the capital.

POWER CORRIDORS

Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu commended Power Corridors as a commendable news magazine, affirming that it not only upholds Media Dharma but also fulfills its societal obligations. Power Corridors, as its name implies, delves into realpolitik—examining the essence of influential circles, unraveling the intricacies of political maneuvers, and exploring the pulse of the state’s affairs. However, it transcends mere power dynamics, encompassing a broader spectrum of issues beyond the confines of Delhi’s elite circles.

For PC, which is published by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy, not only highlights the issues of the day but also throws up what ought to be the subjects that the country should be debating about. It reports about the plans, strategies, and agendas of politicians and others; it also sets the agenda for the nation.
